Noosa Food and
Wine Festival 17-20 May
The Noosa food and
Wine Festival is on again. Last year the 4 day Festival attracted over 26,000
people. This event is jam packed with food, wine, and great entertainment.
Starting on Thursday the 17th of May going through till Sunday the 20th of May
you really don't want to miss out. Festival will be hosting the second Qantas
Best Dinner in the World, featuring seven chefs from the prestigious 2011
S.Pellegrino World’s Best Restaurants list. Matt Preston will host this evening
to remember, where a seven-course degustation dinner will be matched with
premium Australian and
Old World wines
presented by the internationally renowned Lisa Perrotti-Brown, Master of
Wine.
Noosa Long Weekend
15 - 24 June
There are over 80
cultural events staged over the 10 day Festival. Festival director Ian Mackellar
announced “Eleven Queensland premiere events will form part of the festival in
2012 including our opening night performance by Australian music diva, Debra
Byrne with her new show Ripe.”
Other featured
highlights are:
- David Williamson’s
new black comedy “When Dad Married Fury”.
- The preview of
Bruce Beresford’s new film “Peace, Love and Misunderstanding” starring Jane
Fonda.
- Paul Smith’s
photographic exhibition of music legends.
- A contemporary
dance performance from
Brisbane ’s Expressions Dance
Company.
- The very first
Noosa Book Club with Jennifer Byrne, Marieke Hardy, Jason Steger, Charlotte Wood
and Di Morrissey.

Autumn Weather in
Noosa
Having lived in
Noosa for 23 years, autumn is my favourite season of the year. Most importantly
the rain has stopped! It means you can take a walk in the National Park, go to
the Sunday Farmers Market or have a round of Golf without packing an umbrella.
The nights are a bit cooler, days are still warm enough for a cool swim in the
ocean and there are beautiful sunsets to be enjoyed from Noosa Woods at the end
of the day.
